After landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport, you will meet your trekking team and begin your first walk through the beautiful Khumbu region. The trail passes through traditional Sherpa villages, stone-built homes, prayer wheels, and suspension bridges before reaching Phakding (2,610m / 8,563ft). This relatively short first day allows you to enjoy the mountain environment and gently prepare for the higher elevations ahead.
Note: During the peak trekking seasons, flights to Lukla may be operated from Ramechhap Airport instead of Kathmandu Airport due to high air traffic congestion in Kathmandu. In this case, you will need to leave Kathmandu very early, usually around 2:00–3:00 AM, for the approximately 4-hour drive to Ramechhap. From Ramechhap, you will take a direct flight to Lukla. Although the early departure and road transfer make the day longer, the overall flight schedule and trekking experience remain largely the same.

After breakfast, you continue your trek along the Dudh Koshi River toward the famous Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar (3,440m / 11,286ft). The trail winds through pine and rhododendron forests, crossing several suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags. As you enter Sagarmatha National Park, the landscape becomes increasingly dramatic, with your first glimpses of Everest and other Himalayan peaks possible along the route. The final section is a steady uphill climb to Namche, where you will spend the night surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

Leaving Namche Bazaar behind, the trail follows a scenic route through the Khumbu hills toward Tengboche (3,860m / 12,664ft). The path offers magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Thamserku as it passes through peaceful forests and small settlements. After descending toward the Dudh Koshi River, you will climb steadily through rhododendron and pine forests to reach Tengboche. The village is famous for Tengboche Monastery, one of the most important Buddhist monasteries in the Everest region. If time permits, you can visit the monastery and experience its peaceful mountain setting.

Today's trek takes you deeper into the high Himalayas as you leave Tengboche and descend through beautiful forests toward Deboche. The trail then crosses the Imja Khola and continues toward Pangboche, one of the oldest permanent settlements in the Khumbu region. From Pangboche, the landscape gradually becomes more open and rugged as you approach Dingboche (4,410m / 14,469ft). Along the way, you will enjoy magnificent views of Ama Dablam and the surrounding peaks. These memorials provide a quiet and meaningful reminder of the challenges of Himalayan mountaineering. You begin early from Lobuche and follow the trail alongside the Khumbu Glacier toward Gorak Shep (5,164m / 16,942ft), the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. After a short break and lunch, you continue toward Everest Base Camp (5,364m / 17,598ft). The trail crosses rugged glacial terrain and offers spectacular views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks and Khumbu Icefall. After reaching Everest Base Camp, you will have time to celebrate this remarkable achievement, take photographs, and appreciate the incredible surroundings before returning to Gorak Shep for the night.

You will start early in the morning for the hike to Kala Patthar (5,545m / 18,192ft), one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region. The pre-sunrise climb rewards you with breathtaking views as the first light illuminates Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks. After spending time at the viewpoint, you descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast before continuing downhill toward Pheriche (4,371m / 14,340ft).
