Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Shyabrubesi (1,550m / 5,100ft)

Drive Duration: 6–7 hours

Start your journey with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Shyabrubesi. Enjoy views of mountain ranges like Ganesh Himal and Manaslu, with breaks for photos and local food along the way.

Overnight: Teahouse in Shyabrubesi

Day 2: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,380m / 7,830ft)

Trek Duration: 6 hours

Begin trekking along the Langtang Khola River. Hike through forests of rhododendron and oak, pass small villages, and cross several suspension bridges before reaching Lama Hotel.

Day 3: Trek to Thyangshep (3,400m / 11,152ft)

Trek Duration: 5–6 hours

Climb higher through alpine landscapes with great mountain views. Walk past waterfalls, yak pastures, and scattered houses on your way to the peaceful village of Thyangshep.

Overnight: Teahouse in Thyangshep

Day 4: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,900m / 12,792ft)

Trek Duration: 4–5 hours

Follow the trail deeper into the Langtang Valley. Visit prayer wheels, old stone walls, and stop at the famous Yak Cheese Factory. Reach Kyanjin Gompa, a quiet village with a beautiful monastery.

Day 5: Day Hike to Tsergo Ri (5,000m) or Kyanjin Ri (4,773m)

Trek Duration: 8–9 hours (Tsergo Ri)

Choose a side hike to either Kyanjin Ri or Tsergo Ri for amazing views of snow-covered peaks, glaciers, and valleys. These are tough climbs but offer some of the best panoramas in the region.

Day 6: Trek back to Lama Hotel

Trek Duration: 6–7 hours

Start your descent, retracing the trail through the forest and along the river. Enjoy more chances to connect with local people and take in the peaceful surroundings.

Day 7: Trek to Shyabrubesi

Trek Duration: 5–6 hours

Follow the downhill trail back to Shyabrubesi. Enjoy your final night in the Langtang region with a relaxing evening at a local teahouse.

Day 8: Drive back to Kathmandu

Drive Duration: 6–7 hours

Take the drive back to Kathmandu through hills and river valleys. Once in the city, you can relax or explore Thamel’s shops and cafes.
