Overview

Mera Peak Climb (6,476m / 21,247ft) is one of the top trekking peaks in Nepal for climbers seeking a high-altitude adventure with minimal technical difficulty. Known as Nepal’s highest trekking peak, Mera provides a rewarding challenge that combines the majestic Himalayan scenery with an accessible mountaineering experience.

From the summit of Mera Peak, climbers enjoy breathtaking panoramic Himalayan views, including five of the six highest mountains in the world: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga. This makes Mera Peak one of the most sought-after Everest region climbing adventures.

Despite occasional listings of 6,654m due to clerical errors, the true height of Mera Peak is 6,476 meters (21,247 feet). Its non-technical route requires basic glacier travel skills, making it an excellent first Himalayan peak for fit trekkers and mountaineering beginners looking for a safe but exhilarating Himalayan expedition.

The most popular route starts with a flight to Lukla, followed by trekking east over Zatra La Pass into the remote and scenic Hinku Valley. An alternative, longer route heads south from Lukla and traverses the valley. Both paths provide stunning Himalayan landscapes, Sherpa culture experiences, and an unforgettable Nepal trekking adventure.
